COVID-19 novel coronavirus: the Vail Valley Foundation response to Eagle County Public Health standing order to prohibit events of 50 or more

The Board of Directors, leadership and staff of the Vail Valley Foundation place the health and well-being of our employees and their families, our supporters, guests and the people we serve across our many events, venues and programs, as a top priority.

Effective immediately, the Eagle County Department of Public Health and Environment has issued a standing public health order prohibiting events of 50 people or more effective immediately through April 8, 2020.

The order includes certain exceptions including public schools and childcare. See the complete Eagle County order HERE.

The Vail Valley Foundation stands in full support of the recent order and is enacting appropriate measures across all our events, venues and programs.

We are following the guidance of public health institutions, closely monitoring the situation, and are prepared to take further swift action, if necessary, in support of the health and welfare of everyone who is a part of the VVF community.

Below is a summary of our actions taken in light of the recent order:

Vilar Performing Arts Center

In full support and concordance with the recent Eagle County order, the Vilar Performing Arts Center has announced the cancellation of all performances and events for the remainder of the 19-20 winter season.

Any ticket buyer of a canceled show will receive a full refund for the value of the tickets purchased. Please email boxoffice@vvf.org with any additional questions.

The Vilar Performing Arts Center will continue to work closely with public health officials to determine if any additional actions are necessary.

YouthPower365
In following with the determination of Eagle County Schools and Eagle County public health officials, all YouthPower365 activities will be canceled from now through April 8th.

 

Dollars for Scholars interviews will continue, but interviews will take place via conference call-in rather than in-person. More information will be provided directly to Dollars for Scholars applicants.

 

Any change to current plans, or any other further information will be made immediately available via bilingual communications through all YouthPower365 and Vail Valley Foundation communications channels.

YouthPower365

GoPro Mountain Games

The GoPro Mountain Games are scheduled for June 4-7, 2020, in Vail, Colorado and each year welcome an international audience of more than 80,000 people over the four-day event.

At this time, it is too early to make a determination to limit, postpone, or cancel any aspect of this event.

In the event there are any cancellations or changes to upcoming events, further information will be made immediately available via all GoPro Mountain Games and Vail Valley Foundation communications channels. These determinations will be made no later than April 30.

Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater

The Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater is located in Vail, Colorado, with a capacity of up to 2,800 spectators, as well as volunteers, ushers, artists and staff at each event. Gerald R Foard Amphitheater is a summer season venue which opens for business by late May each year.

At this time, it is too early to make a determination to limit, postpone, or cancel any aspects of our summer season.

The Ford Amphitheater is operated by the Vail Valley Foundation. The Vail Valley Foundation will continue to work closely with public health officials to determine if additional actions are necessary.

Vail Dance Festival

The Vail Dance Festival is produced by the Vail Valley Foundation and hosted at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater and Vilar Performing Arts Center. It is scheduled for July 31 – Aug 11, 2020.

At this time, it is too early to make a determination to limit, postpone, or cancel any aspect of this event.
