The Town of Avon, Eagle County, and the Vail Valley Foundation (VVF) celebrated the groundbreaking of a new early childhood education and development facility.
The 13,590-square-foot, all-electric facility will be designed to serve 165 children ages 0-5 in the expensive Colorado mountain resort community.
"We're super excited. We've been working on this for several years," said Avon Town Manager Eric Heil.
The $13 million project aims to provide affordable childcare for working families struggling with high living costs in the Vail Valley. The state-of-the-art facility will be housed in an all-electric building powered by solar panels and batteries.
