Stagehands | Vail Valley Foundation


The Vilar Performing Arts Center, an active 535-seat theatre located in the beautiful Beaver Creek ski resort, has ongoing need for stagehands on a show-by-show basis. Our busy seasons run July-August and December-March. We are frequently in need of loaders, stage electricians, stage carpenters, wardrobe crew/dressers, and audio hands.

Work only when you’re available – we can accommodate most schedules! Show days typically involve a morning or early afternoon load in before the performance plus an evening load out after the performance. Some positions will work the performance in addition to the in and out.

This job includes shifts with long hours and/or late nights. This job often requires heavy lifting. Pay starts at $15 per hour, but is negotiable based on relevant experience.

No experience in concerts or theatre? No problem! We are building a team of hard workers with positive attitudes and are willing to provide on-the-job training to the right people.

  • Be able to follow instructions well and with attention to detail
  • Maintain a safe working environment
  • MUST play well with others
  • Able to work long hours and late nights when on the job
  • Flexibility – able to adapt to changing circumstances and agendas
  • Experience working on tours and/or in road houses is helpful, but not required
  • Experience in one or more aspects of technical theatre recommended, but not required.

Our stage crew are a critical part of VPAC’s daily operations. VPAC is pleased to offer its part time staff complimentary tickets to VPAC and GRFA shows on an as-available basis, as well as free parking in Beaver Creek employee lots on work days.
