PwrHrs Enrichment Instructor | YP365

The Vail Valley Foundation’s YouthPower365 PwrHrs program is seeking a qualified youth development professional willing to share their talents and passions with local kids by leading enrichment programs.

PwrHrs is an after school program dedicated to advance students’ success in school and beyond by providing both academic and enrichment opportunities. Join our team and work with students in the after school setting one to three days a week at the following locations: Avon Elementary, Brush Creek Elementary, Edwards Elementary, Eagle Valley Elementary, Gypsum Elementary, June Creek Elementary, Homestake Peak School (Elementary and Middle), Red Hill Elementary, Red Sandstone Elementary, Berry Creek Middle, Eagle Valley Middle, Gypsum Creek Middle.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Experience working with children in a group/camp setting
  • Must be 16 years or older
  • Able to pass a background check
  • Availability:
    • Session 1: October 1-December 7
    • Session 2: January 21-April 26
    • Days: Monday-Friday (1-4 days a week, varies by school)
    • Times: 2:50-5:30pm (varies by school)
  • Plan and instruct lessons through enrichment lessons during PwrHrs After School. These lessons could include physical activity, art, music, dance, or another area of instructor expertise.
  • Adapt instruction to meet the needs of all students thus increasing the probability of advancing their achievement
  • Provide supervision to students and use behavior management techniques when necessary
  • Create positive, encouraging space for students to learn and play
  • Establish and demonstrate positive relationships with students, parents, other staff members, and the community
  • Implement and enhance the existing PwrHrs program based on the YouthPower365 POWER values and objectives
  • Maintain strong relationships with school administrators at your site and maintain school procedures and cultures
  • Work with teachers & students to define mutual goals
  • Communicate program goals to staff and parents
  • Gather appropriate data needed and perform needed testing
  • Represent YP365 in the community, with partner organizations and coalitions that share common programmatic interest
  • Promotion of YP365 initiatives to schools, students, and parents
  • Communicate YP365 mission to the community
  • Keep abreast of best practices in youth development, SEL, education, and other related fields through reading, research, conferences, etc.
  • Perform administrative tasks needed to successfully support the PwrHrs program
  • Support other programs that encourage your growth in youth development and as a coach
  • Represent VVF and YP365 at all times within the community including fundraising events, programs and special events

This is an hourly, part-time position.

$18-$22/hour
