VISTA Volunteer Coordinator | YP365

The Vail Valley Foundation (VVF) is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator VISTA for YouthPower365! Join an fun, mission-focused team focused on the youth of Eagle County as it develops a strong volunteer program. This is a unique opportunity for someone to use their creativity and communication skills to make a difference in their community. The Volunteer Coordinator VISTA will help YouthPower365 establish a high-quality volunteer system that engages different people from different backgrounds as they share their time and talents to help children and families. The Volunteer Coordinator VISTA will also work with staff across the organization and dozens of partners to grow this program, making connections that last a lifetime.

Serving with Vail Valley Foundation’s YouthPower365 is a life-changing experience in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world, which is full of endless opportunities for outdoor adventures in a caring mountain resort community. But more importantly, the work we do is mission focused, driven by efforts to provide the highest quality programming possible.

Working with Vail Valley Foundation’s YouthPower365, one of the oldest non-profits in Eagle County, will allow this VISTA to grow personally and professionally, building important skills for future employment. YP365 has been a successful, award-winning host/sponsor to multiple AmeriCorps programs, and four of our full-time staff members are AmeriCorps alumni.

As a youth serving non-profit YouthPower365 strives to provide year-round extended learning that inspires, educates and empowers the youth and families of Eagle County from cradle to career-readiness. Each year, YouthPower365 serves more 3,000 children annually with more than 300,000 afterschool program contact hours throughout 13 schools and in 10 low income neighborhoods. Our programming reaches children as young as 3 years old through high school and beyond.

  • High school degree with work experience
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check
  • Spanish language skills preferred
  • Completion of AmeriCorps VISTA application and program requirements
  • Work across YP365 and VVF departments on volunteer management
  • Recruit, train, and appreciate new volunteers of all ages and backgrounds
  • Use the Volgistics database to manage all YouthPower365 volunteers
  • Work with YouthPower365 staff to develop new volunteer opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with YP365 stakeholders and partners
  • Provide trainings on volunteer engagement to YouthPower365 staff
  • Establish an evaluation system for volunteers and volunteer service opportunities
  • Create a YP365 volunteer handbook
  • Contribution to community events and activities
  • Develop a sustainability plan for future volunteer efforts
  • Completion of state licensing requirements for after-school care providers. This includes Standard Precautions, Mandatory Reporting, FEMA multi-hazard planning, First Aid/CPR/AED, Playground Safety, Injury Prevention, Medication Administration and Medical Delegation, and Positive Youth Development.
  • Completion of additional trainings in Social Emotional Learning, Youth Mental Health First Aid, and Volunteer Management

  • Living allowance ($1226.96 / month)
  • Housing Allowance ($500), Choice of Education Award ($6,095) or End of Service Stipend ($1,800) upon successful completion of service
