Dance Teacher & Artist

The Dance Teacher and Artist will work with Celebrate the Beat-Eagle County to expose the Vail Valley Foundation’s YouthPower365 students to this transformative in-school and after-school arts program. This unique program has been embraced by school districts throughout Colorado for 21 years, including Eagle County Schools as a YouthPower365 program. This position is an integral part of the in-school and afterschool program across four to six schools as well as the annual Pop-Hop camp. Children served are in 3rd-8th grade. This role supports the Artistic Director during programming, by dancing with children with energy and enthusiasm to promote the values and mission of the program. The position assisting children in learning choreography, helps implement the annual curriculum, and creates a safe and inclusive environment. The role uses different vocalizations and tones for cueing the live musicians that are a component of every class and must maintain positive relationships with school staff. This person will also support end of year performances in multiple roles.

Experience in the art of dance
Experience in working with children
Able to pick up choreography quickly
Ability to dance with energy during programming
Open to learning and improving skills as a dancer and teacher
Attends staff meetings and training as needed.
Is highly professional and seeks excellence in all areas
Basic Spanish skills a plus.
Undergoes a background check before hire.

This is an hourly, part-time, position with pay rate of $25 to $40 based on experience. This position has potential for professional growth and full-time employment.
