Proceeds from the Black Diamond Ball support the general fund of the Vail Valley Foundation, supporting the following endeavors:

In the Arts, the Vail Valley Foundation hosts the highly acclaimed
Vail Dance Festival, entering its 30th year in summer of 2018. The organization also operates the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater in Vail and the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek, along with free summer concerts in Vail (Hot Summer Nights) and Eagle (ShowDown Town).

In Athletics, the Vail Valley Foundation hosts the annual Birds of Prey World Cup ski races, the GoPro Mountain Games, and Stage 1 and 2 of the Colorado Classic. The Vail Valley Foundation also led the effort to bring the Alpine World Ski Championships to Vail and Beaver Creek in 1989, 1999, and 2015.

In Education, more than 4,200 local children are supported throughout all phases of youth by the Vail Valley Foundation’s nationally-recognized YouthPower365 programming in early childhood (PwrUP), K-12 (PwrHRS), and career & college readiness (PwrOn).


Yes! All contributions to the Vail Valley Foundation are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law for U.S. taxpayers. All contributors will receive a tax receipt from the Vail Valley Foundation following the event. Tax ID#: 74-2215035
