Senior Manager of Early Learning | YouthPower365

The Senior Manager of Early Learning oversees program design, development, implementation, and evaluation of the Vail Valley Foundation’s YouthPower365 Early Learning programs. YouthPower365’s Early Learning programs embrace the Strengthening Families Approach to serve children 0-8 and their families. Specific areas of responsibility include staff management and professional development, fiscal oversight of program budgets, adherence to program quality and state licensing requirements, leadership within YouthPower365 staff, collaboration with local early learning partners, and active contributions to early learning efforts locally, regionally, and state-wide.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Early Childhood Education/Development
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working with families of young children
  • Large Center Director Qualified through Colorado Department of Human Services or ability to be licensed in this capacity upon hire
  • Experience supporting youth and families from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of community resources and opportunities preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Spanish proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking, preferred
  • Experience in program evaluation
  • Experience in staff management
  • Experience in budget management

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervise and coach Early Learning program staff, including Magic Bus mobile preschool and Parent Mentor coordinators
  • Leadership and supports for Parent Mentor participants, projects, and partner schools
  • Develop and/or provide family learning opportunities using the Strengthen Families approach, individualized support/instruction, and advocacy
  • Develop and provide supports for families and children transitioning into the school system
  • Evaluate early learning programs using evidence-based tools, especially TS-Gold
  • Develop annual professional development plans for Early Learning staff
  • Prepare and track budgets for Early Learning programs
  • Monitor programs for quality, safety, best practices, and participant growth
  • Ensure licensing compliance and standards
  • Maintain current and accurate reports and record keeping
  • Align program goals to YouthPower365’s short term and long-term strategic goals
  • Educate, inform, and guide other YouthPower365 programs, staff, and committees on the importance of early learning and its connection to our continuum
  • Guide marketing and communication needs
  • Support fundraising and grant activities
  • Stay up to date on community issues, plans, and activities that support early learning
  • Cultivate and collaborate with community partners  to maximize resources and learning
  • Participate in local, regional, and state taskforces or committees related to advancing early learning needs

This is a salaried, full time year-round position eligible for all VVF employment benefits.

Salary range: $60,000-$65,000 annually
