Senior Accounting & Finance Manager

The Vail Valley Foundation (VVF) is seeking an experienced senior level finance and accounting professional with a passion for the mission of the Vail Valley Foundation. The position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Vail Valley Foundation’s Finance Department and reports to the CFO. This includes, but is not limited to, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and all financial reporting functions. The Senior Finance & Accounting Manager may be responsible for managing employees. This position is a key management position and will support the CFO with respect to special projects.

  • Minimum College or University Undergraduate completion
  • Five years of Accounting/Finance Experience, including some supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Financial software expertise; Knowledge of Financial and Raisers Edge would be most helpful
  • Strong self-initiative, complex problem-solving skills, and confidence
  • Time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Experienced team leadership
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to help other departments with understanding of profit and loss statements, budget planning and forecasts
  • External audit and tax-return coordination and document preparation.
  • Internal and external financial reporting and narrative.
  • Daily accounting and supervision of monthly accounting close process.
  • Quarterly reporting of investment activities
  • Assist with human-resource and other administration tasks
  • Oversee annual budget and monthly forecast process.
  • Research of complex accounting issues, and ensure staff is well informed of accounting processing, internal controls, etc.
  • Special projects for CFO and CEO
