Assistant Box Office Manager | VPAC

The Vail Valley Foundation (VVF) is seeking a motivated professional for a full-time position as a Box Office Assistant Manager for the Vilar Performing Arts Center (VPAC) in Beaver Creek. The primary function is to support the VPAC Box Office services. The job’s secondary component is coordinating the VPAC volunteer scheduling. The position offices out of the VPAC box office year-round and reports to the Vail Valley Foundation Senior Box Office Manager.

  • A minimum of 2 years of customer service experience preferred
  • A minimum of 1 years of management experience preferred
  • Previous AudienceView or ticketing system experience preferred
  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills (in-person, by phone & by email)
  • Strong computer skills, database experience preferred
  • Ability to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willingness to assist other departments with administrative tasks as needed
  • A passion for the performing arts
  • Capable of remaining focused and calm under stressful situations and able to quickly adapt to changing conditions
  • Proven ability to make critical decisions independently and with little supervision
  • Ability to perform physical labor as needed
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Manage VPAC day-to-day box office operations, including hiring, training, scheduling of box office staff
  • Manage payroll and all Human Resources needs for part-time VPAC staff
  • Field customer complaints & filter to appropriate departments as necessary
  • Become fluent in all aspects of AudienceView ticketing system
  • Assist Box Office Manager with reporting, performance configuration & event settlement
  • Assist management in pricing strategy: subscriptions, bundles, zoning, promotions, etc
  • Execute proper cash handling and revenue control procedures
  • Ensure marketing materials are up-to-date and properly displayed outside the box office
  • Assist in donor ticketing fulfillment
  • Troubleshoot ticketing system as needed
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and requests and work with internal team to resolve any issues
  • Manage outreach reservations (Vail Resorts Club tickets, concierge tickets, shuttle services, community groups)
  • Primary point of contact for venue partner ticket requests
  • Formatting & printing event programs when needed
  • Coordinate with Marketing Manager to ensure accuracy of customer-facing data
  • Use Volgistics scheduling platform to communicate scheduling needs to volunteers, run reports & manage scheduling changes
  • Ensure volunteer staffing matches event needs
  • Coordinate with Director of Operations to determine rental event staffing needs
  • Assist part-time front of house staff with customer problem resolution
