Dear Friends,
First of all, on behalf of the Beaver Creek/Vail 2013 World Championships Campaign Committee and everyone that traveled to Cape Town to assist with the bid at the FIS Congress, I want to express our sincere appreciation for all of your support and good wishes.
While we were unsuccessful in our attempt to bring the FIS World Ski Championships back to the Vail Valley and Colorado, I want you to know that there is a tremendous amount of respect for Vail and Beaver Creek throughout the international ski community and our group in Cape Town represented all of you with the utmost professionalism and pride.
We congratulate Schladming on their victory and know that they will do a wonderful job hosting the 2013 Championships. We also want to thank all of our friends from St. Moritz and Cortina for their genuine camaraderie in the true spirit of competition.
Once again, thank you to everyone that was a part of the Beaver Creek/Vail 2013 bid, whether personally or philosophically. It was an honor to represent you in this effort.

Engaging New Worlds
“Engaging New Worlds” is a unique and focused concept currently being facilitated within Colorado in conjunction with the Beaver Creek/Vail 2013 FIS World Alpine Ski Championships bid. It is a program designed to grow the awareness and participation in the sports of skiing and snowboarding throughout the United States utilizing the 2013 FIS World Championships as a catalyst.
